Cat's Paw

H20 - The Pressure's On!

VANCOUVER, BC: Violet Jive Productions "Cat's Paw" is written by William Mastrosimone, produced by Kelly Ann Woods and Tim Laplante and directed by Jenn Griffin and runs October 17th -22nd at the Havana Theatre.

"Cat's Paw" brings to life the very relevant need of having safe, drinkable, and usable water readily available for the present day public. Set in the political hot spot of Washington, DC, we meet Earth Now, an extremist Eco-terrorism group, through the eyes of an eager and ambitious reporter, Jessica Lyons. As the play progresses, the heat and tension rises as the inevitable question arises: How far is too far?

"A grabber." - Seattle Times

DIRECTOR'S THOUGHTS: “I was often told as a child; it matters not whether you win or lose but how you play the game, but it did not” says Griffin. “Instead I entered a world not without kindness, but a world where for the most part the ends justify the means.” A society that encourages identities derived from job titles and a job well done as opposed to a job well considered. At our worst, we are a society of “obsessionals”. Cat’s Paw for me succinctly illuminates the by-product of our cultural norm that values result over human life.”

"Entertaining, informative, thoughtful and scary."
- The Weekly, Seattle
